Having taken a moment to observe this National Library Week, I'm grateful to finally be in the profession that I love. I remember as a young child entering the New York Public Library and thinking "WOW, look at all these books." My mind raced at the thought that I could read every word, learn about all the things that could be taught to me and be a part of so many different stories created by some of the words best writers. Still today I am honored to be both a librarian and a writer, on my journey to making my dreams a reality.
What do you remember about the first time you entered a library? Why do you appreciate literature?
