Resources/references are all the books, magazines, journals, articles or sources that you use during research and while writing a paper. Citation is the quotation, or information used from the resources used to discuss the topic of research. Why do you need to cite your sources? To avoid plagiarism. Plagiarism is taking someone's work and not giving the original owner/writer credit for using it. Plagiarism is serious and has several consequences. There are two styles of citations that are most used: APA (American Psychology Association) and MLA (Modern Language Association).
