At the end of 2014 I finished Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. I have moments after reading a great book where I feel lost and everything is surreal. I loved the book, the characters, the plot and everything else about the story. I decided I both wanted and needed to read more. As a librarian most people think all we do all day is read. (We wish.) In a perfect world that would be possible. I hadn't read for my enjoyment in months, so after Gone Girl I decided to participate in the 2015 Reading Challenge. On the Good Reads website (a excellent resource on all types of books) the 2015 Reading Challenge is listed. Upon signing in (if you don't have an account sign up it's FREE) I immediately decided I wanted in. After a short view of what others readers had decided to set as their number of books for the year I decided to stretch myself and push myself to read 40 books over the course of 2015. 40 books in 12 months, seems like a lot. When I think about it is is a lot, however I developed a system and so far I'm already 3 books in with a list and a plan. Click on the link sign up on www.goodreads.com and start your Reading Challenge. |
